Before You Teach
If you are a new faculty member, are unfamiliar with teaching in the hybrid modality at NYU Law, or need a refresher, you will need to have completed the following steps before your first hybrid class session.
- Activate your NYU NetID, Enroll in Duo/MFA, Activate your NYU Zoom account.
- Create your NYU Brightspace course site.
- Schedule Zoom meetings in your NYU Brightspace course at your scheduled class time.
- Review Hybrid Teaching Basics tutorial.
- Prepare your teaching materials (e.g. PowerPoint slide deck).
In the Classroom
At your appointed class time, you will need to know your NYU Net ID credentials, have in your possession your cellular telephone linked to your Duo/MFA, and any prepared teaching materials. It is recommended to arrive a few minutes early to set up the technology before class begins.
To teach to the hybrid student body, follow these steps:
- Move the mouse to wake the Room PC.
- Activate the Touch Panel using your finger.
- Select “Presentation” on the Touch Panel.
- Select “Room PC” on the Touch Panel.
- Attach lavalier microphone to your lapel.
- Toggle microphone on.
- Load any teaching materials you need onto the Room PC (e.g. PowerPoint).
- Navigate to NYU Home (home.nyu.edu) using a web browser on the Room PC (e.g. Firefox).
- Login using your NYU NetID credentials and Duo/MFA on your phone.
- Select the NYU LMS (Brightspace) card in NYU Home, or type “Brightspace” into the search bar.
- Navigate to your NYU Brightspace course site.
- Select “Zoom” in the top navigation menu.
- Launch the appropriate Zoom session.
DONT FORGET TO PRESS RECORD
- Organize your session windows.
- Share your screen by clicking on the “Share” button.
- Teach!
- Click the “End” button in the bottom right corner of your Zoom window.
- Select “End meeting for all.”
- Click the “Restart PC” icon on the Room PC.
- Select “System Off” on the Touch Panel.

After Class Ends
Once you have ended the meeting or stopped the recording, Zoom will process and migrate the recording to Panopto. To access and view the class recording:
- Navigate to your Brightspace course site.
- Click “More Tools” in the top navigation menu.
- Select “Panopto Course Folder.”
