Course-Level Role Permissions

Possible course-level roles in NYU LMS (Brightspace) include:

Instructors / Manual Instructors
Can create and edit content across all sections within the course. Can view and grade student submissions, interact with site members, and update/modify course settings.

Course Administrators
Same overall capabilities as instructors. Can additionally bulk enroll users in a course site via .csv file.

Teaching Assistants
Can create and edit content across all sections within the course. Can view and grade student submissions and interact with site members. Cannot update/modify course settings.

Students / Manual Students
Can view content made available to the whole site or their specific section. Can submit assignments, take assessments, contribute to discussion boards, and otherwise interact with site members.

Learning Assistants (can only be enrolled by school-based school administrators)
Can view content made available to the site. Can interact with site members, but can not submit assignments or take assessments.

Undergrad Course Assistants (can only be enrolled by school-based school administrators)
Can create and edit content across all sections within the course. Can not view / grade student submissions, interact with site members, or update/modify course settings.
